Adorable Ornament Box

Although everyone else is back to feeling a bit better, I am still having to be a bit careful with myself. My pain is still come and go - and a few good chiropractic adjusments have been helpful. Now I am only worrying about certain pregnancy issues like swollen feet and ankles....

While I have a TON of projects that I want to share, I haven't gotten around to photographing them, so until I do - I plan on posting a few projects designed by Stampin' Up! I do hope you enjoy them.

Stamps: DELIGHTFUL DECORATIONS STAMP SET	Paper: Card Stock Whisper White 8 1/2X11 Card Stock Kraft 12X12 Card Stock Textured Earth Elements 12 X 12
Ink Stampin Write Marker Real Red Classic Stampin Pad Chocolate Chip Classic Stampin Pad Old Olive	Accessories: Punch Handheld 1/16 Inch Circle Thread Linen Punch Corner 3/16 Inch Ribbon Grosgrain Real Red 5/8 Inch PUNCH ORNAMENT
Instructions Ornament box 1. Print Box Pattern #4 from Pattern Library on Kraft card stock, and cut out. 2. Stamp snowflake image in Chocolate Chip ink on box front, and assemble box. 3. Tie Real Red 5/8" grosgrain ribbon around box. 4. Stamp ornament image in Old Olive ink on Whisper White card stock (2" x 2"), and punch out using Ornament punch. Write names with Real Red Stampin’ Write marker. Tie linen thread in a bow around ornament. 5. Round corners of Chocolate Chip textured card stock (2" x 2") using 3/16" Corner Rounder punch. Punch hole in top of card stock using 1/16" Circle punch. Thread linen thread through hole, and tie to Real Red ribbon. Adhere tag to box using Stampin’ Dimensionals. 6. Adhere ornament to Chocolate Chip tag using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

 

Still Around

 I know I have been missing in action. The family took off for a week up to my husband's uncle's ranch on the California/Oregon border. It was a wonderful trip full of great memories. The boys were in boy heaven - jumping on the trampoline, playing with cap guns, chasing geese, feeding chickens and horses and playing with the dogs. It was truly great. HOWEVER....

 On Saturday night, everything changed. What started out as a quick little horseback ride turned into one of my worst nightmares ever. As I watched my husband and son (on Daddy's lap on the saddle) coming back on the old paved road when suddenly the horse decided to go completely out of control and come home in a full run. My husband did everything possible to gain control of the horse while holding on to my son. However, when the saddle started to slip - all he could do was hold on to my son and protect him as best as possible. The next thing I knew they were falling hard onto the pavement and I was screaming.

 Despite my FM and hip pain, I took off running as fast as I could. After making sure my husband was ok, I scooped up my son and carried him well over 300 feet back to the house (I paid for it later). By some miracle, it doesn't seem that there are any broken bones, and nobody hit their head - Thank GOD! However, both of them are pretty banged up - with my husband having horrible road rash aver about 1/3 of his back. He isn't moving too well, and on strong pain meds. I've quickly gone from the one needing and receiving the help and care to the one giving it all. I am in pain still - however I am dealing with it the best I can so that I can take care of them.

 I have been blessed with wonderful friends who brought dinner last night, brought over some grocery basics and even came to help me clean my house - knowing that it has only received minimal attention the last few months as I have struggled with the pregnancy and FM. I am truly grateful. It has been rather humbling, but I am so grateful to have such wonderful people in my life. There is still a lot to do - and I am getting it done - slowly. But life has been made just that much easier by these little gestures.

 I will get back to blogging when things calm down a little and I can get my family back to normal. Hopefully within the next week or so.

Where I've been

My weekend consisted of Western Days festival in my home town (including Pancake Breakfast and a Rodeo), my hubby and oldest son going to a Dodger's game to enjoy Star Wars night, cutting pumpkins off the vine, fresh picked apples with my G'ma and a 40 mile ambulance trip after my 3 year old swallowed a quarter. Ugh! An almost perfect weekend.

Housekeeping

Oh how I wish someone would knock on my door and say that! Until then - I am doing a little housekeeping around here.

I have been playing around on My Digital Studio - Stampin' Up!'s new Digital Papercrafting product to create a new design for the blog - What do you think? It's not that hard  (at least on the design part - it's just setting it all up here that is a little time consuming for me as I really don't know what I am doing) So I hope to start making some themes for the different seasons and holidays - but don't hold me to that - hee....unless someone does come and knock on my door saying "Housekeeping"! Lol!

Also - all of the September MISS swaps FINALLY arrived today, so hopefully I can get them out Monday or Tuesday. I was so busy worrying about the swaps this month that I didn't get one set up for October.

Pregnancy is going good and the FMS seems to have lightened up the past few days, so I am trying to get some stuff caught up. I do need to get ready for a class here on Tuesday - not to mention that with everything going on the past few months I am WAY behind.....

I am trying and appreciate the recent support and comments!

MISS September Swappers -

 Ok, I have received MANY e-mails in the last few days about how you are running behind on your swaps. There are probably at least 8 people who have contacted me. I do understand that life happens - but please, there are other people in the swaps...please keep that in mind and make they are sent to me ASAP. The due date to mail them to me was two days ago - Tuesday the 15th. With so many people running late on their swaps, I want you to understand that of course, I will be late in turn getting them out.  I will update the original post later as to whose swaps I have received.

St. George Samples

 On Saturday, I had the wonderful opportunity to take 2 of my new team members up to St. George to attend a wonderful annual stamping event. This was my 4th year attending and every year I am so grateful each year that I had the chance to go. It is a day full of fun, inspiration, learning, friends, swapping, stamping, and memories.

 All three of us ended up going to bed late the night before, so the 4 a.m. wake up call came EARLY. We hit the road about 5 with some of my homemade cinnamon rolls in our tummies. We stopped at the Mesquite McD's for the traditional stop - and I was ok - until they told me they were out or Sweet Tea. WHAT THE HECK??? I thought I was going to cry.

 We made it in time to enjoy a wonderful presentation by Jill Olsen all about using Stampin' Up! products to QUILT!!! It was amazing! I learned soooo much! I really want to try some of the ideas. Even being a novice at the sewing machine, I think I could do it now. Want to see some?

My First Digital Studio Scrapbook Page

 While I have looked forward to "digi scrapping" for EVER, it has still been a little bit of a leap for me. Working in a new media takes some getting used to. I did however pull this page together in maybe less than 30 minutes or so. It was a fun page and I think I could creat an entire coordinating album with little to no trouble - and it will be nice to not have to worry about running out of a product.

***one of fave features*** Being able to "stamp off" or create the look of "generation stamping" AFTER adding the image. Just click on the "Opacity" level and it instantly "lightens the ink"

MISS swap questions

I've had a few people ask about opening another group for Medallion. Being as I will be closing signups probably tomorrow - I will not for this month - BUT , if there is enough interest, I will add it as a set for next month's swaps.

I will post a photo album of ALL the received swaps so that everyone can see them.

I usually include this in the final emailed instructions - but if a swap doesn not fill - you will only do the number that signed up +1.

Hope that clears up a few things.

Also - if you know any other talented swappers that would like to participate - please share this with them. It's always so much more fun when the groups are full.

MISS September Swaps - CLOSED!

I know that a lot of Demonstrators love having samples from every stamp set we have, and I know that stamping "customers" (I don't like that word...as you are so much more) like that too. HOWEVER, I am one that would prefer to have more samples from the stamp sets that I own and demonstrate, to truly show the versatility and really launch my creative process.

So that's how the idea of the MISS swap started (Monthly Inspiration Set Sampler)

This swap has proven itself in the past to be a TOP QUALITY swap! This swap will be open to everyone, not just Demonstrators, I only ask that ALL supplies are current Stampin' Up! (with the exception of things like staples, paper clips, etc...). This will be a "best quality" , so you'll want to do your best work...Fancy isn't required, but neat is!

This stamp set needs to be the "main" image on the card, you can still use backgrounds and sentiments.

Sign ups will end on the 5th, and all cards MUST be mailed to me by the 15th.

I will then mail you your cards by the 25th.

This will be a +1, full card swap, so for each swap you will make 8 FULL cards (not fronts) - keep one for yourself then you will get 6 more back, giving you a total of 7 samples. One stays with me for organizing. Sound fun?

Full instructions will be mailed to all participants on or before the 6th.
