WOW! Stampin' Up! Butterfly Mobile

I love love love love love love love love love love love love love this.

Now this would come as a surprise to anyone who knows me, because I don't really like butterflies. *GASP* I know - wierd, huh? I had some realllly funky 70s butterfly wallpaper in my room when I was little, and I blame it all on that. So it is odd that I am drawn to this project - but these butterflies aren't scary. They are adorable. Now I know that this sample showcases retired colors/papers - however Stampin' Up! always has sucha  great collection of papers and colors to choose from, I am sure you could find one to coordinate with your nursery....or can you imagine what a jaw dropping gift this would make?

Butterfly Mobile

Paper Kiwi Kiss card stock Rose Red card stock Kiwi Kiss textured card stock Rose Red textured card stock Raspberry Tart Designer Series paper Accessories & Tools Crop-A-Dile Sizzix Big Shot Beautiful Butterflies Bigz die Sticky Strip Embroidery hoop (ours is 10" in diameter) Monofilament thread  (such as fishing line)

Instructions

These supplies and instructions are for general guidelines only.

1. Punch four evenly spaced holes in wood embroidery hoop using Crop-A-Dile. 
2. Cut two pieces of monofilament thread, each at least four times the diameter of your hoop. This ensures that you have enough thread to go through the hoop and squarely hang your mobile. For example, we cut 40" pieces.
3. Pull one piece of monofilament thread through each set of holes, so thread crosses in the center of the hoop. Gather ends, and knot them together at the top. This will be what your mobile hangs from.
4. Hang your embroidery hoop within easy reach, and shift the hoop on the thread until it is level and centered. You'll want to leave it hanging while you finish assembly.
5. Tie several strands of thread, evenly spaced, to embroidery hoop to hang butterflies from. The number of strands and the length of each strand are entirely up to you. Remember to knot your thread on the outside of the hoop so your finished mobile will have a clean look. 
6. Cut butterflies from Designer Series paper and card stock (you'll need two die cuts for each butterfly) using Big Shot and Beautiful Butterfly Bigz die.
7. Attach the same number of butterflies to each strand, making sure to put a butterfly at the end of each strand. This will give your mobile a clean finish and help it hang straight.
8. Score each butterfly down the middle and bend slightly.
9. Adhere Sticky Strip to the center of one butterfly and press it against the thread, and then press another butterfly against the Sticky Strip (so the butterflies cover the thread and Sticky Strip.)
10. Adhere two pieces of Kiwi Kiss textured card stock to the embroidery hoop, covering knots.
11. Carefully remove your mobile from its temporary hanging place, and hang it wherever you desire!

Spatter ink over the box using Close to Cocoa Stampin' Write marker and Color Spritzer Tool Very Vanilla Box Cut the unassembled matchbox from Very Vanilla textured card stock (6" x 12") using Big Shot machine and Matchbox die. Assemble the two separate portions of matchbox. Cut 1-3/4"-wide strip from Blush Blossom textured card stock, and stamp fleur de lis image on card stock in VersaMark ink. Apply Silver Stampin' Emboss Powder to stamped image, shake off excess, and heat emboss. Apply Dazzling Diamonds Stampin' Glitter to ends of flourishes. Wrap embossed Blush Blossom card stock around slip-cover, and adhere. Punch scalloped border strips from Chocolate Chip textured card stock using Scallop Edge punch; trim and adhere to slip-cover portion of matchbox so that the strips border the Blush Blossom card stock. Punch circle from Very Vanilla textured card stock using 1" Circle punch. To create label: Stamp "Here for you" in Chocolate Chip ink on Very Vanilla textured cardstock and insert punched circle in Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware. Tie Chocolate Chip 3/8" taffeta ribbon to silver hardware and wrap ribbon around slip-cover. Remove rhinestone from brad, and adhere to silver hardware, and then silver hardware to slip-cover. Run Blush Blossom textured card stock through crimper and cut several strips from crimped card stock.  Insert strips into box portion.  Slide slip-cover over box portion of matchbox. Blush Blossom Box Box Cut the unassembled matchbox from Blush Blossoms textured card stock (6" x 12") using Big Shot machine and Matchbox die. Stamp toile image in VersaMark ink on slip-cover. Apply White Stampin' Emboss powder to stamped image, shake off excess, and heat emboss. Assemble the two separate portions of matchbox. Cut 1/2" strip from Chocolate Chip textured card stock and dab with water to distress. Adhere strip to the slip-cover. Adhere hat pin from Pretties Kit over Chocolate Chip strip using Glue Dots. Trim pin with wire cutters, if needed. To create label: Cut label from Very Vanilla textured card stock using Big Shot machine and Matchbox die. Spatter ink over label using Close to Cocoa Stampin' Write marker and Color Spritzer Tool.  Apply Rub-On greeting to label. Adhere label to slip-cover using Stampin' Dimensionals.  Stamp butterfly image in Close to Cocoa ink to Very Vanilla textured card stock.  Cut out image and adhere to edge of label. Adhere label to slip-cover. Slide slip-cover over box portion of matchbox. Candy Wrappers Cut four 1"-wide strips from Chocolate Chip textured card stock. Wrap around candy and adhere. Punch four flowers from Blush Blossom textured card stock using Trio Flowers punch.  Adhere to Chocolate Chip strips. Adhere half-back pearls to punched flowers. Insert candy into box.

Instructions

1. Apply antiquing medium to pots. Let dry.
2. Adhere Designer Delights Décor Stencil to pots using stencil adhesive. Apply stencil paste over stencil using palette knife or spatula. Remove stencil and let dry. Repeat for each stenciled image.
3. Apply acrylic paint to pots using stamping sponges. 
4. Spatter Really Rust ink over pots using Color Spritzer Tool.
5. Apply Pearl Glaze to pots. Let dry.

Quick and Easy Valentine card

 

See that little bit of text on the photo? Yup, it says "hand-stamped by Jeanna Bohanon" that's me! I know it has been a long time since I've posted a card that I made, so I figure I better start. This was a really easy card to make. It is Pretty in Pink cardstock and I just glued a ton of little hearts I punched out of Pretty in Pink to give this card a faux embossed look. A quick little banner sentiment and a few brads and Voila! Super easy.

3. Wheel star image in Riding Hood Red ink on Kraft card stock. Punch out two stars using Star punch. Adhere one star between “h” and “n” in “Thanks” using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Adhere second star to card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
4. Stamp “For everything” in Night of Navy ink on Kraft card stock. Cut out and adhere to card under “Thanks.”
5. Punch two circles in card using 1/16” Circle punch and adhere Silver brads.

Instructions

1. Create box from More Mustard textured card stock using pattern.
2. To create belly band, scallop top and bottom edges of Old Olive textured card stock (12" x 3-1/2") using Scallop Edge punch. Adhere Haiku Designer Series paper to scalloped Old Olive textured card stock. Wrap both pieces around box, and adhere ends.
3. To create tag, stamp birds image in More Mustard ink on each piece of So Saffron textured card stock. Color birds with More Mustard ink using blender pens. Punch out circle from larger piece of card stock using 1-3/4" Circle punch. Punch small hole in top of circle using 1/8" Circle punch.
4. Cut solid bird image from smaller piece of card stock, and adhere over solid bird image on tag using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
5. Stamp "Beautiful" in Old Olive ink on Old Olive textured card stock (1" x 1/2"), and trim. Adhere to tag using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
6. Tie tag to box using Whisper White 3/8" taffeta ribbon.
