Welcome to this month's We Create Blog Hop - Step It Up! Every month we get together as a small group to share some fun ideas creating a "simple" project, and a "stepped-up" project. I love this theme and sharing with you every month.
This month, I needed birthday cards for two very special little boys in my life. My son and nephew - we call them the twin cousins, because their birthdays are a day apart. They were actually due on the same day! They truly are best buddies, so I wanted to create cards that were very similar (of course I had to step up the one for my son) and I love them both!
Even the "simple" version is perfect for a little boy, or well pretty much anyone. After using the FUN embossing folders to create the recessed, or debossed letters, there are fun shapes to stamp over the area, creating this fun look. It's a great way to make a simple card look fancy.
To step this up, I only did a few extra things. I added the Black and White Baker's Twine and star sequins, heat embossed the "birthday to you" sentiment, and added an additional layer. That's it!I love the extra touches.
This color combo is one of my all time favorites for boys. I am going to be so sad when Cucumber Crush retires at the end of May. Please remember that our retiring products are while supplies last, so if you LOVE this color as well, make sure that you stock up on all of the In Color products you need.
