Well, Thursday night, my time was well spent helping during the delivery my friends baby. Mom and Baby Girl are well. She's the cutest and tiniest thing! I only got about 4 hours of sleep though....argh 3 year olds!
Anyhow, here is the 3rd TIme Well Spent card I promised. I challenged myself as I really have an aversion to printed butterflies. Wierd phobia maybe, but still. So I really have to try to use my butterfly stamps.
This card is 4.5" square card with a watercolor paper base. I used one of my fave techniques I picked up on From My Ink Pad to Yours blog to make the embossed square. THe butterflies and sentiment were stamped in Basic Gray ink. I stamped the butterflies on a scrap of water color paper and colored them in with my markers. I used Apricot Appeal, Tempting Turqouise and Certainly Celery. The first time I saw this technique IRL was when I received a swap card from Mary Polcin at convention. She is one of our top demonstrators and she told me that it is one of her fave techiques to demo. It turns out beautifully. Anyhow, I cut them out and mounted them on dimensionals. The top butterfly is actually 2 dimensionals on top of each other for a little extra pop. Hope you enjoy!
I love the layering of the butterflies!

I love the simplicity of this! Other than the cutting - I'd think this would be a quick card.
