Ok, so I warned you last week that there was going to be a LOT of Birthday cards this month, right? It worked out well for me - I got to play with
Big Wish and
Life in the Forrest this week to make cards for my Father in Law and my Hubby!!! That means TWO cards for you!
First I'll show you the one I made for my Father In Law. Kind of a different color combo for me, but I wanted bright and cheery and this came straight from the Color Coach!

Adding the Pool Party Core'dinations Cardstock embossed with the Arrows Textured Embossing folder gave this card just that little something that it needed so that area in the top right didn't look empty.
TIP - To make the images POP, I actually embossed all of the Smokey Slate and Pool Party images with Embossing Powder. On the Tag I stamped and embossed the "little cake Big wish" in Smokey Slate and then I did the same thing on a scrap with Pool Party Embossing Powder and cut out the letters.
See that fun little silver accent? I just pulled the silver out of the
Silver Baker's Twine and tied it around the cute little cake plate.
This is the card that went to my Hubby! I know it might seem a little juvenille, but we both love the outdoors so I thought that this would be a fun set to play with for his card, besides, maybe it helped him not think about growing older!
For fun and to give it a little bit different look, I actually embossed all the stamped images in Gold Embossing Powder (once again, I might need an intervention)
Then I watercolored the images on our AWESOME
Watercolor Paper - it is seriously the BEST.
I didn't want to just shove it in any old envelope, so I decided to dress up one of our
Tag a Bag Gift Bags.... what do you think?
The good news is that they both seemed to love their card. Guy cards can be so tricky.
I have lots of family birthdays in April too! I know what you mean when you say they "seemed" to like their cards...guys are so hard to read sometimes. These are all wonderful so I am sure they really do love them!
